A beautiful yet tough woman working in a beautiful yet
tough setting, Brannon Callahan is a search and rescue
helicopter pilot for the Great Smoky Mountains National
Park. Strong faith and a decorated history of service have
kept her one step ahead of on-the-job dangers, but there’
s no precedent for what’s about to happen. After a
blizzard takes down a small plane carrying U.S. Marshal
Roark Holland (already haunted by a recent tragedy),
Brannon must save him in more ways than one and
safeguard the donor heart he’s transporting to a
government witness on the edge of death. Otherwise the
largest child trafficking ring in history—with shocking links
from Thailand to Tennessee—will slip further away into
darkness along the Appalachian Trail.

From Michelle V:
My Review:: Deliver Us From Evil was a fabulous
book! I really, truly loved this book!
The book grabbed me from the start and it had me
hanging on the edge of my seat. I could not put it
down and ended up reading it in one day because I
couldn't put it down (no matter how much housework
needed to be done). It's a wonderful, action filled,
suspenseful story with a great romance. It was one of
those where I found myself saying things like.......OH
NO.....out loud! And then I would look up from my
book and see my teenage sons looking at me like I
lost my mind and roll their eyes at me. Hey, I can't
help it. It's that good!
The writing is great, the story line is fabulous, and the
characters completely stole my heart. Brannon is one
of the main characters in this story, and she's such a
great character. I want to be her when I grow up.
She's a helicopter pilot who does search and rescue
in the Smokey Mountains. She's strong, faith-filled,
and compassionate. She can recite scripture for any
situation. She's amazing and I was cheering for her
the whole way through.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone. It has
something for everyone. It's got great action,
suspense, drama, romance, and a powerful message.
I am happy to say that there is another book coming
in this series. YAY! Fear No Evil is due out in August
2010. I cannot wait!
From Buuklvr8:
My Review:: This book was EXCELLENT! I loved
everything about this book. It's emotional, romantic,
suspenseful and full of Christian beliefs. An awesome
combination!
One of the things I liked about this book is, while I
have heard nothing but awesome reviews on this
book, it is by an author who is totally new to me. And,
now that I have read Deliver Us From Evil, I will
definitely be checking out more of the talented Robin
Caroll's books! She has a talent to write a book that
has the ability to leave you with a white knuckle grip
on the book, turning page after page, flowing with the
roller coaster twists and turns, to get to the end of the
book for that long awaited reveal, all the while,
showing us the wonderful mercy of God!
I'm not going to say that just one character tugged at
me the most. I enjoyed all the characters(except the
bad guys, of course!), from Roark to Brannon to
Lincoln. They all had a magnificent part in Robin's
heart wrenching story of child trafficking. Robin
created this child trafficking story by pulling fact into
the fiction. It's amazing how real this book seems. I
think it would make a perfect movie(not all books turn
out to be great movies but this one has the
pontential). I think the only down side to this entire
book is the ending.....Robin makes me wonder if this
is the start of a series, and guess what? It is! The
release of Fear No Evil is August 2010 and I
absolutely CAN NOT wait until that time! I want to
read more of these fantastic characters by this
wonderful author!
All of those things said, I rate this book with 5 stars!
There is no question about it! FIVE STARS! When
you read this book, you are sure to feel the same
way!
REVIEW: I received a review copy of Robin Caroll’s
exciting debut novel. Warning: reading this book will
keep you up late—compelled to discover the final,
exciting conclusion to this wonderful book.
Robin Caroll’s characters were strong, brassy and
real. Roark reminded me of the U.S. Marshall in the
movie The Fugitive. He liked to be in control of
everything. His motto, “Don’t let them see your
weakness.”
Brannon reminded me of the female character in G.I.
Jane. She’s a rough and tough girl you don’t want to
mess with when she’s working. Here’s a peak at how
Brannon snaps at Roark, ” Let me tell you something,
Mr. Marshall. I don’t care how big and important you
think you are—you will not make it out of these
mountains without our guidance. So you can stop with
the arrogance and know-it-all, take-charge attitude.
We must work together to survive.”
I felt like I was in the middle of an action adventure
movie with fighting, shooting, chase scenes, fires,
helicopters and police drama. This is an intriguing
story filled with suspense, hope, forgiveness and
justice. I enjoyed the comradery among the
characters and how they chased down the bad guys.
But, I especially enjoyed how this author wove a
believable spiritual thread into the story; keeping the
main thing the main thing even in the middle of war - I
like that.
There’s a race to set little girls free from brothels in
the USA, before they’re shipped to another location. I
think Robin handled the topic of sex-trafficking with
grace. I’m sure conditions in brothels are worse than
described. The author notes she hadn’t realized how
serious this problem was before doing research. It’s
horrific.
I enjoyed every second of this book. Can’t wait to
read the sequel called Fear No Evil. Way to go, Robin
Caroll, on writing such a great and exciting debut
novel.

your heart. Check it out.
From "She Reads":
Deliver Us From Evil by Robin Caroll
I read this book in about 3 hours, I just couldn't put it
down! Full of suspense & intrigue, a really well written
fictional book about such a non-fiction subject. Definitely
an A+ from me!
My Thoughts:
Ms. Caroll delivers a suspenseful, romantic tale in her
latest work Deliver Us From Evil. Brannon Callahan, a
search and rescue ranger in the Great Smokey Mountains
National Park, tries to rescue a donor human heart. Her
actions would help save the life of a crucial witness in a
child trafficking ring. Unfortunately, she draws the
attention of a corrupt and powerful man who will stop at
nothing to see her dead.
Ms. Caroll would have had a good story with Brannon and
Roark, the US Marshall, but she adds even more drama
with the child trafficking ring. She pulls on one's
heartstrings and raises awareness of a national problem
with this story element.
Ms. Caroll also includes links to learn more about child
trafficking in the US.
She endows the villain with irony. While he decries
uncouth manners and people who do not extend common
courtesy, he runs a human slavery operation and has no
trouble with killing to protect himself.
The tension and drama built to the very end of the story
where it reaches a satisfying conclusion. It also leaves an
opening to write further about one of the characters. His
story will be featured in Fear No Evil, coming in August,
2010.

I'm one of those weird men who loves Braveheart and
Gladiator, but will rewatch You've Got Mail just as often.
It's not often you get a mix of both in a movie or a book.
With Caroll's Deliver Us From Evil, you do. Intriguing,
tense, but also romantic, this book wins on every level.
Can't wait for the next book from Caroll. --James Rubart
